No disrespect intended by placing the picture of this unusual menorah on the floor. In Shintaido, one sees many a hakama, the garb of a teacher, mindfully folded upon a wood floor; I see floors as sacred space.
I saved my mother's 2007 calendar because I liked the December photo so much, the beautiful blue glass and intricate artwork. Running out of fuel, I received comfort from the significance and hope offered in the Hannukah story of the miracle of light.
