Milano

It’s not brakes that we need. It’s more space to go all out.

It was an epiphany this morning, that the barriers, handicaps and interference in life push us out into new territory that we might in easier situations overthink and avoid.

We were given the space to go all out at the end of the International Shintaido Fest in Italy this month, space where we could test the boundary of our limits, and hurt no one in the process.

In meditation, true eiko dai: no brakes, no limits.

My!

This post is at about 40% of the intensity of yesterday's, and it STILL sounds like you are about to burst open.

I am clueless about what boundaries were/are holding you back. How can any group turn a whole lot of people "loose" at such a pointed time... the end of the conference? Its all too cryptic to me.

In retrospect I can see this building in about the 3 post back when you mentioned the comforting, "of the world", austereness of our 80 year old wood floor(s).

Hi, George-
Thank you for your reflection--and I don't think of y'all's floor as austere, but quite warm. I have a happy picture of Sam on that floor from when Carol cared for him before he turned one--a serene, safe space--

Sometimes we have to venture out of our safety zones--it's good to have internalized trusted spaces to reorient--
